If you live in the same part of the country then you know it was hot and a little humid last night.
If, like us, you don’t (or don’t yet as is our case) have a heat-pump installed then you too likely had windows open and fans spinning in an attempt to cool down the house.
If, last year, you were robbed blind by nasty thieving creatures that clearly have no respect for law and order then maybe you too recently had a whole house alarm system installed.
If you are like me, then maybe you went to check on your kid last night at midnight since:
a) you were not sleeping yet,
b) she was at last quiet so maybe she was finally asleep
c) you wanted to be sure the flow of air coming from your window fan was creating adequate air flow into her bedroom only to discover her room still felt a bit stuffy.
If upon pulling her drapes back you noticed her window was only open about 10 inches you too determined the logical thing to be to open her window wider to allow more air flow….
Only to have that action followed by an immediate loud screeching that permeated not only your entire house but likely the entire surrounding neighborhood…
Next thing you know your spouse is flying into action (he who’d previously been lost in a dead sleep)
alarm is now reset
child’s eye are wide open,
and spouse is anything but pleased.
Well, dang, I forgot about that thing–that alarm.
If you’re looking to pay for your drugs via robbing our house, you might want to rethink that one.
Heat pump (aka air conditioning) is scheduled for install two weeks from now.
Where before I was more concerned about yet another expense to this remodel project house we took on a little over a year ago I am now looking forward to its installation (for more reasons than one).
